Tim Keller
August 20, 2017I’m so grateful for the witness of the Village Church over the years.
I know there’s sorrow and regret that accompanies the closing of a congregation. The regret comes because all of us who were involved can look back and say, “What could I have done differently?” I certainly have done that, in prayer, regarding TVC. And the sorrow comes because we need all the gospel witnesses in New York City that we can get. It is always a grief to lose one.
Nevertheless, all churches, like people, have a particular calling from God. God called TVC to change many lives, to bring many to Christ, to present the gospel to many people–and it did. It has fulfilled its mission in the providence of God. We grieve to see it pass, but I am so grateful for all it accomplished.
